Also known as: Internet Protocol Television, TV over IP
With IPTV, TV channels are sent as data packets over the same network as your internet. Reception happens centrally in one room (satellite, cable or DVB-T2) and is then distributed as an IP stream to every room, unit or chalet.
The advantage is management: channel changes, welcome screens and updates are handled centrally rather than per device. Logos, channel order and apps can also be set per building or target group.
IPTV does require a network built for it. Multicast, VLAN separation and enough capacity at the evening peak determine whether the picture stays stable when everyone is watching at once.
How we apply this
We deliver IPTV at hotels, holiday parks and care locations, usually over the same network that also carries wifi and business systems.
