120-room hotel fully switched to IPTV
Existing coax reused, IPTV rolled out over the data network and central management per room. Installed in two nights, without disturbing guests.

The challenge
- Outdated analogue TV installation with varying picture quality per floor.
- Guests complained about missing channels and slow Wi-Fi in the rooms.
- The hotel did not want to break open ducting or take rooms out of service.
- Faults ran through three different suppliers, so nobody owned the problem.
Our approach
- 01
Site survey and measurements
We measured every floor: signal strength on the coax, the condition of the UTP cabling and the coverage of the existing access points. That showed the data network was suitable for IPTV with limited changes.
- 02
Design and pilot
One floor was fitted out as a pilot with IPTV receivers, a new switch and a tailored channel package. After two weeks of measuring and tuning, the final design was fixed.
- 03
Rollout in two nights
The rollout ran between 23:00 and 06:00, wing by wing. Every room received a pre-configured receiver; installation averaged seven minutes per room.
- 04
Handover and management
The hotel team received a short training and access to our portal. Since then we usually see faults before reception reports them.
The result
- All 120 rooms have the same channel package and the same picture quality.
- Welcome screen with hotel name and room-specific information.
- No guest fault reports in the first six months after delivery.
- One invoice and one point of contact for TV, network and support.
“The rollout ran overnight and in the morning guests noticed nothing at all. Exactly what we hoped for.”
